Presentation


Anim!Arte is an international film festival of animation movies with focus in the student public. It has as objective to stimulate the culture, as soon as the professional artistic grown, of the Animation Business in Brazil. This has being concretized incentivizing the production of animation movies, mainly among students.
During the event, competitive film festivals of movies made by students assemblage prizes for the winners. Although, there is a parallel film festival with professional moviemakers, Brazilian and international, that complete this group of selected movies.
In the competitive student’s animation film festival, there are three categories: basic education, highschool and college students. But, for international students, there is only one category in the competition.
The election is constructed by two juries’: the professional one, and the popular. The professional jury is composed by teachers, visual art professionals, drawers, animation moviemakers, filmmakers and journalists. Otherwise, the popular jury is composed by the spectators, who vote on the films in the festival.
Usually, the programmation also has lectures with professionals of the animation and of the audiovisual business, besides expositions and workshops of animation.
In its past editions, the festival already had received animations made by students of all States of Brazil, besides student’s animations from countries as Germany, Canada, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, South Africa, Israel, United States, Estonia and Czech Republic.
More than just an event for having fun, Anim!Arte also contributes to the profesional empowerment of people who whish to ingress in this career, contributing to the qualification of this labour market.
This ensue, Animation, attracts a very mixed group of people. Although, the public of Anim!Arte is made up, in its major, by universitaries, students, professionals who work with audiovisual projects, teachers and lovers of Animation and of Cine.
In the academic area, it has an interdisciplinary profile, but most part of the interesting people are professionals and students of Design (Visual Communication, Project of the Product, Digital Media), Social Communication (Journalism and Publicity), Pedagogy, Cine, Computer Studies, Plastic Arts, Escenic Arts, Music, Arquitecture, Mechanic Engineer, among others...
Anim!Arte is, nowadays, one of the most famous film festivals directed to the student public of the areas of Animation and Audiovisual in Latin America.
Itinerant Anim!Arte Film Festival
After the conclusion of the annual film festival, some animations of Anim!Arte are selected to exhibition in the itinerant film festival, that goes to schools, universities, non-governmental organizations, communities, cultural centers, and to other points of culture all around the country.
For receiving the Itinerant Anim!Arte Film Festival, the place has got to have a cine-projection room or auditorium with good quality of sound (projector and DVD equipment). Thanks to Anim!Arte – Brazilian Student Animation Film Festival, the producers of this project have being able to take animations made by Brazilian and international students to a great diversity public, in different regions of Brazil, and other countries, since 2001.
Besides the Film Festivals, Anim!Arte also produces animation workshops in different formats, in the institutions which receive the itinerant circuit.
